We, as Members of the Board of Education,  believe that the Board Of Education must provide transparent, constructive, 2-way communications with all members of our community; including parents, citizens, leaders, and of course and most importantly, our students. The community must be engaged and kept informed of successes, issues, and opportunities for improvements as we strive to keep Ledyard Public Schools regionally competitive and the schools of choice.

The Republican Candidates understand that the Board Of Education must work as a team with the Town Council to achieve the common goal of ensuring all decisions are based on the student’s needs and life-long learning while recognizing the fiscal realities of the town’s citizens.

We believe in proactive, fiscally-responsible, long-term school technology and infrastructure planning. We must work to minimize continuous tax increases. To accomplish that goal, we will develop and implement  a capital plan based on a 10 year perspective that includes innovative options for funding sources. We will also pursue a continuous improvement process that identifies and supports existing successful practices while also striving to find new solutions for what is not working.

We will strive to approach decisions strategically with the objective of positively impacting the school system with a 10 year plan rather than re-actively addressing issues.  With a visionary plan, we can develop a proactive, instrumental roadway for positive growth in our academic system here in Ledyard.
